Aims and Principles

SureStart Aims

The main aim of SSCD is to plan and meet the needs of children and parents. To do this the service will:

• Improve outcomes for all local children and particularly, closing the gap in outcomes between children living within different wards through County Durham.
• Improve local outcomes for local parents through increased opportunity to effectively participate in the labour market therefore strengthening both families and local communities.
• Improve outcomes for local communities, including less crime, higher productivity, and a stronger labour market.
